Skills! *6

There are lots of skills that are required to have, for several reasons. During terms students increase their knowledge and improve their skills in many aspects such as art. In my opinion, attending terms is quite important for students. I find myself fond of what I need to learn in this term, because this term is more like fun and beneficial at the same time. Many of my skills have been improved thanks to the practice in reading, listening, speaking and writing this term provides and help my teacher to me. Now I’m more aware of what I need in order to be pro at my job and in my study which is an accounting. Certainly deciding which job or profession suits me is much easier for me now since I know after taking this term what I’m good at and see myself into. Fortunately this term discussed all kinds of jobs and gave us some previews of all. At last, I just find this term as my opportunity to step up to my dream!

Etisalat and Websites (Argument)

In the UAE, Etisalat is the best company for its mechanism of internet and mobiles. Some people prefer that Etisalat blocks some websites. Others think that it is not good and people have the right to enter any website. This essay will talk about the pros and cons of blocking or allowing websites.

There are some major arguments for blocking. The first benefit of blocking websites is safety for children. For example, when Etisalat blocks bad website the children can’t enter them. Secondly, stopping the hackers from teaching people who can’t learn hacking from the website is a good idea. Last argument is that it blocks against bad political websites, because some people learn bad things from these websites and they find false information about countries.

However, there are many important reasons against blocking websites. The first point against is that, Etisalat cannot allow some websites about married life and that causes divorce. Secondly, blocking all political sites and that causes political ignorance of people. Finally, each website has different information, which is like a double-edged sword you can use it in either a good or bad way.

In conclusion, both methods blocking websites and allowing them have advantages. However, I prefer blocking bad websites than allowing them because we can use books to learn specific things better and this protects people.

Testing and Class Work (Argument)

At this age, technology is everywhere, in the HCT or any University. However, I feel examinations are a bad way of giving grades, but they also good in other ways.

Let me start firstly, with the support of testing as unfair at the HCT. The first major point I would like to discuss is that examinations cause nervousness and students get bad grades because they feel unwell. For example, sometimes students have accidents or they suffer from disease the same day of exam. A second point is that testing is not a fair way of giving grades because students should be graded on their classroom work like assignments. I can also argue that some exams are poorly written and are culturally biased against non-western students. For example some exams written by western teachers for a western audience are biased and non-westerners will score higher to this bias.

On the other hand, there are also arguments that support the statement. I believe the most important point is that an examination is fair. For instance, all students at HCT take the same test, and are assessed equally. A further point is that testing is a good way to determine what students have learned in the course because some teachers ignore some of chapters. This will encourage students to work hard because testing will give them good feedback on their understanding of the subject.

In conclusion, in my opinion HCT will be better if they mix between testing and class work in grading the students. However, the decision whether examinations are fair or unfair is for HCT and instructors to make.

This graph shows the number of workers from the UK and Canada coming to work in Dubai between 1990 to 2006. Overall, there was a sharp increase from 1992 until 2006 of workers coming to Dubai.

Between 1990 and 1996 the number of UK workers was more than Canadian workers. While from 1998 to2006, the number of Canadian workers increased to slightly more than UK workers. From 1998 to 2002 the numbers leveled off, the number of UK workers was steady and increased slowly. The biggest decrease of Canadian workers was from 1994 to 2000. In 2002 the number of UK workers was about 90,000. However, in 2004 the number of Canadian workers decreased dramatically, before rising again.

In conclusion, we can see from what I have written the highest level for both the UK and Canadian workers was at 90 thousand. Overall, the number of workers from UK/ Canada increased rapidly in Dubai from 1990-2006.

This line graph shows the number of visitors from two countries Japan and Spain between 1996 until 2006 to Canada. Overall, there are big differences between Japanese and Spanish visitors with more coming from Japan.

Starting in 1996, there was a significant difference in the number of visitors from Spain to Canada. There were almost 300,000 Spanish visitors compared to 850,000 Japanese visitors. Moreover, the number of Spanish visitor grew slowly. The lowest number of Spanish visitors to Canada was in 1996, at 200 thousand visitors. While the lowest amount of Japanese visitors to Canada was in 2003. The highest level of Japanese visitors was in 1996. The number of Japanese visitors between 1996 to 2001 remained steady.

In conclusion, during the ten years the number of Japanese visitor outnumbered the Spanish visitors. In the eleventh year, the number of Spanish visitors increased more than Japanese visitors.

Advertisements (Argument ) #5

Nowadays, most media in the world depend on advertisements. However, there are some channels without advertisements but these not free. I feel advertisements are bad and boring but it is also goof in other ways.

Let me start firstly, with the pros of advertisements. The first major point I would like to discuss is that advertisement make channel free. For example, encrypted channels take money monthly or yearly without ads breaks. A second point is that you will see new products by advertisements. For instance, each company when it has new products exposes them in advertising. I can also argue that TV stations give people jobs because channels make profits by advertisements.

On the other hand, there are also arguments that support the statement. I believe the lost important point is that no ads that mean you need to pay money and it is expensive. For example, sport channels without ads but you need pay 300 DH per 3 months. A further point is that no ads during movies is better because some people like watching movies without ads. Finally, if you want new products you can find it in the internet. For example, make research in Google.

In conclusion, in my opinion if you pay some for no ads or if the channels reduce the number of ads that would be best. However, the decision whether ads are fee is for TV and instructors to make.

Juruies Sports in Australia

The table compares between different types of sports and different kinds of injuries. Overall, the biggest percentage of injuries happened during competition.

The biggest number of sports injuries is Australian football with 10,122. The lowest number of sport injuries is volley ball at 776.  The lowest percentage of injuries during competition or practice was martial arts at 71%. The number of sports injuries of Soccer, Rugby, Cricket, Basket ball and Netball between 3098 to 3777. In addition, the biggest percentage of injuries which transferred to hospital is Rugby at 10.9%, while other sports fewer than 7.5%. The percentage of sports injuries of Squash and volleyball were same with 1.9%.

In conclusion, Rugby is the hardest sport because it has high risk of injuries and transferred to the hospital. Most sports in Australia have too many injuries both during competition or practice.

Traffic accidents in the UAE

In the past the number of accidents was very low. However, nowadays the number of accidents in the UAE is too high. In this essay I will discuss the problem and solutions why are traffic accidents are high in the UAE.

Many people think that the number of accidents is too high in the UAE because the numbers of cars have increase day after day. For example, nowadays we can see that women drive cars and young people too. The second reason for this problem is that the speed on highways is too high and that causes many accidents because young people drive fast while women and old people drive slowly so that we can see big accidents everyday on the fast road. Finally, in the small towns of the UAE many young people without license drive cars and that causes accidents.

Fortunately, there are many solutions for this problem. The first solution is that the government should decrease the speed on highway roads. For example make it 120 km/h at most. Secondly, they should give young people licenses only after they learn. The third solution is that the government should increase the fines for speeding. For example, if the policemen arrestee anyone driving fast they should take him car for one month.

In conclusion, we can see that when the speed increase the number of accidents increase. I think the best solution of all could be decrease the speed limits which will save lives and money.

Children watch too much TV

In the past children didn’t watch too much TV. However, nowadays most children watch too much TV and that a big problem. In this essay I will describe some effects of watching TV too mach and I will suggest some solutions to this problem.

There are important reasons why we have the problem of children watching too much TV. Firstly, children who watch too much TV will be obesity, For example, when the children stay too much to watch TV and eat without doing any exercises that will make them obesity. The second reason is that, watching TV a long time that causes eye problems so we can see that most children these days use glasses. Another problem is that some children have bad beliefs because they see difference culture and horror movies.

Although, these problems are very serious, we can take steps to solve the main problem. The first solution is that, the parents should put some restrictions lock at the TV. For example children can’t watch TV more than one hour per day. The second solution is that, parents should do other activates in the home. For example reading stories, playing foot ball and swimming. Finally, put roles say you can watch TV if you didn’t do your homework’s.

In conclusion, we can see from what I have written watching too much TV is a big problem. We can solve this problem by educating and awareness. I hope that we act now before it’s too late.

Obesity in the UAE

In this decade, many people in the world have obesity problems. Especially, in the modern countries like, the UAE have faced this problem. A few years ago the UAE was not problematic in this case as much as now. In this essay, I will write about the causes of obesity in the U.A.E and solution.

Firstly, nowadays in the UAE most people eating fast food daily. For example people who study in college they always eat fast food during the break. The second main cause of obesity problem is the lifestyle. Today most people spend their times in watching TV or in the work and some of them in the internet and they don’t do any exercises.  Afterword, most families in the U.A.E don’t have any idea about health food and their traditional foods are the main reason for obesity. For example, in the UAE people everyday eat rice with meat or chicken for lunch. The last main causes I will tell you about it is lack of education. A lot of people in the UAE don’t care about their healthy and don’t have information about what cause obesity.

There are some solutions for the obesity problem. One solution is to educate people in special classes about eating right, especially children or the doctors should give them some advices about health life style. The last solution is to teach people how they can do some exercises daily. This will help them to be active and lose weight.

In conclusion, we can see that from what I wrote the obesity is a big problem in these days and we need to find many solutions to stop this problem for the present and for the future.

Young UAE Drivers Are Reckless

There are many young Emirati drivers on the UAE streets. Overall, not all of them are excellent drivers. In accordance with a report about Dubai, many of these drivers are speeding, tailgating and cut off other drivers because it is “manly”. In this essay I will illustrate some problems and solutions and I will discuss these.

The main problem is that young Emirati on UAE roads are driving their cars at high speeds. For example many young Emirati provide their vehicles with extras like turbo and headers. Another big concern is that most drivers in the UAE are driving their cars on the roads tail-gating. For example, Emirati drivers driving on a road too close to the vehicle in front, at a distance so they not guarantee stop to avoid collision is possible. A third problem is that some young Emirati drivers likely to cut off other cars and they think that as playing or some thing funny. This problem in the UAE because some of young Emiratis overtake on the roads recklessly.

On the other hand, there are some solutions of these problems. The first most effective solution is, the traffic management in the UAE must put the strict laws for reckless drivers. For example, impounding vehicles if they drive too fast and their speed should be limitedly. Another possible solution is that, police should put animated radars and they hide their presence. Finally, the traffic management should advise the people and disseminate awareness between them.

In conclusion, we can see from what I have written, the biggest problem is reckless driving so we should put new rules to stop this problem and eliminate it for the future.

Wedding of ghosts

One dark and starry night in the desert near Al-Ain, I was camping with my relatives and friends when a strange thing happened. We saw some people starting a fire and they were walking around it. My uncle went towards them and when he went towards them, they went away. Afterward we felt scared they were ghosts or something like that.

My relatives and I stayed there and suddenly we heard the music and we saw them dancing around the fire. At that minute we heard music becoming higher and higher and voices of people become higher. After that we felt scared more than before and my old uncle went towards them but they didn’t go away. He talked with them and after that they disappeared. Suddenly, we heard my uncle crying and he become sick because the ghosts were in him.

My brother and I amazed and that was the first time we saw something like that. After that we went to Motawa and Motawa read the Quran and my uncle returned to normal. And he said that was a wedding of ghosts and he saw them and the ghosts were frightening forms.

I can remember what I saw and it was real story. I hope that does not occur to me again
