Skills! *6

There are lots of skills that are required to have, for several reasons. During terms students increase their knowledge and improve their skills in many aspects such as art. In my opinion, attending terms is quite important for students. I find myself fond of what I need to learn in this term, because this term is more like fun and beneficial at the same time. Many of my skills have been improved thanks to the practice in reading, listening, speaking and writing this term provides and help my teacher to me. Now I’m more aware of what I need in order to be pro at my job and in my study which is an accounting. Certainly deciding which job or profession suits me is much easier for me now since I know after taking this term what I’m good at and see myself into. Fortunately this term discussed all kinds of jobs and gave us some previews of all. At last, I just find this term as my opportunity to step up to my dream!

Etisalat and Websites (Argument)

In the UAE, Etisalat is the best company for its mechanism of internet and mobiles. Some people prefer that Etisalat blocks some websites. Others think that it is not good and people have the right to enter any website. This essay will talk about the pros and cons of blocking or allowing websites.

There are some major arguments for blocking. The first benefit of blocking websites is safety for children. For example, when Etisalat blocks bad website the children can’t enter them. Secondly, stopping the hackers from teaching people who can’t learn hacking from the website is a good idea. Last argument is that it blocks against bad political websites, because some people learn bad things from these websites and they find false information about countries.

However, there are many important reasons against blocking websites. The first point against is that, Etisalat cannot allow some websites about married life and that causes divorce. Secondly, blocking all political sites and that causes political ignorance of people. Finally, each website has different information, which is like a double-edged sword you can use it in either a good or bad way.

In conclusion, both methods blocking websites and allowing them have advantages. However, I prefer blocking bad websites than allowing them because we can use books to learn specific things better and this protects people.

Testing and Class Work (Argument)

At this age, technology is everywhere, in the HCT or any University. However, I feel examinations are a bad way of giving grades, but they also good in other ways.

Let me start firstly, with the support of testing as unfair at the HCT. The first major point I would like to discuss is that examinations cause nervousness and students get bad grades because they feel unwell. For example, sometimes students have accidents or they suffer from disease the same day of exam. A second point is that testing is not a fair way of giving grades because students should be graded on their classroom work like assignments. I can also argue that some exams are poorly written and are culturally biased against non-western students. For example some exams written by western teachers for a western audience are biased and non-westerners will score higher to this bias.

On the other hand, there are also arguments that support the statement. I believe the most important point is that an examination is fair. For instance, all students at HCT take the same test, and are assessed equally. A further point is that testing is a good way to determine what students have learned in the course because some teachers ignore some of chapters. This will encourage students to work hard because testing will give them good feedback on their understanding of the subject.

In conclusion, in my opinion HCT will be better if they mix between testing and class work in grading the students. However, the decision whether examinations are fair or unfair is for HCT and instructors to make.

Between 1990 and 1996 the number of UK workers was more than Canadian workers. While from 1998 to2006, the number of Canadian workers increased to slightly more than UK workers. From 1998 to 2002 the numbers leveled off, the number of UK workers was steady and increased slowly. The biggest decrease of Canadian workers was from 1994 to 2000. In 2002 the number of UK workers was about 90,000. However, in 2004 the number of Canadian workers decreased dramatically, before rising again.

In conclusion, we can see from what I have written the highest level for both the UK and Canadian workers was at 90 thousand. Overall, the number of workers from UK/ Canada increased rapidly in Dubai from 1990-2006.

This line graph shows the number of visitors from two countries Japan and Spain between 1996 until 2006 to Canada. Overall, there are big differences between Japanese and Spanish visitors with more coming from Japan.

Starting in 1996, there was a significant difference in the number of visitors from Spain to Canada. There were almost 300,000 Spanish visitors compared to 850,000 Japanese visitors. Moreover, the number of Spanish visitor grew slowly. The lowest number of Spanish visitors to Canada was in 1996, at 200 thousand visitors. While the lowest amount of Japanese visitors to Canada was in 2003. The highest level of Japanese visitors was in 1996. The number of Japanese visitors between 1996 to 2001 remained steady.

Advertisements (Argument ) #5

Nowadays, most media in the world depend on advertisements. However, there are some channels without advertisements but these not free. I feel advertisements are bad and boring but it is also goof in other ways.

Let me start firstly, with the pros of advertisements. The first major point I would like to discuss is that advertisement make channel free. For example, encrypted channels take money monthly or yearly without ads breaks. A second point is that you will see new products by advertisements. For instance, each company when it has new products exposes them in advertising. I can also argue that TV stations give people jobs because channels make profits by advertisements.

On the other hand, there are also arguments that support the statement. I believe the lost important point is that no ads that mean you need to pay money and it is expensive. For example, sport channels without ads but you need pay 300 DH per 3 months. A further point is that no ads during movies is better because some people like watching movies without ads. Finally, if you want new products you can find it in the internet. For example, make research in Google.

In conclusion, in my opinion if you pay some for no ads or if the channels reduce the number of ads that would be best. However, the decision whether ads are fee is for TV and instructors to make.
